tutorial to change LDView's
language interface using a language file.

This tutorial takes for granted that the program:

LDView - http://ldview.sourceforge.net/

has been installed and is running smoothly. The tutorial is based on version 3.2.

In order to run the program in a language different from its native english you need a .dll file (dynamic link library) where all the information has been coded. At the time LDView "speaks" German and Italian. The procedure to change the interface in one of the supported languages is the same:

If there is still an instance of LDView running please close the programm now. Download the desired language dll compatible with version 3.2

German:	LDView-German-3200.zip	(106 KB)
Italian:	LDView-Italian-3200.zip	(98 KB)

Unzip the content by placing it in LDViews's root directory.

At this point your folder should contain the following files (in alphabetical order):

Help-Italian.html
Help.html
Help-German.html
LDView.exe
LDView.hlp
LDView-DefaultLanguage.reg
LDView-EnglishUS.reg
LDView-German.dll
LDView-German.hlp
LDView-German.reg
LDView-Italian.dll
LDView-Italian.hlp
LDView-Italian.reg

NOTE! There will be much more files like Readme.txt, m6459.ldr, license.txt, ChangeHistory.html, ReleaseNotes.txt, Installationshinweis.txt, .dll files created by other interpreters or subfolders, but those listed above are absolutely necessary to get LDView work properly.

That's all! Starting up LDview will recognize the language of your operating system and automatically load the according language file. If it doesn't, because the language of your OS is not set to German or Italian, you can use the files LDView-German.reg or
LDView-Italian.reg to force LDView to load LDView-German.dll or LDView-Italian.dll as your language file. Double click the file to execute it and answer Yes when asked if you want to add the information in the file to your registry.

LDView will be foreced by the entry in the registry to load the desired language file. If you want to return to LDView's default language (English) at a later time just double click on
LDView-DefaultLanguage.reg. This will reset the information in your registry to default. Just in case it doesn't produce the desired result doubleclick at "LDView-EnglishUS.reg". This will force LDView to load the English language module.
